We use fruit from our world renowned Clayvin vineyard as well as from premium vineyards throughout the Wairau Valley in Marlborough. Early in the growing season we determine which grower vineyards will have the best Chardonnay fruit best suited for The Brothers Chardonnay and we work with them in managing those blocks throughout the season. We pick early to maintain natural acidity that Marlborough is famous for.
Striking aromas of hazelnut, hot rock, grilled stone fruit and brioche, combine with a multi-layered, succulent and focused palate to create a wine with great depth and character.
Matured in predominately French oak hogsheads and puncheons and 1000L German oak Fuder barrels for 10 months. Oak age is a mix between one, two and three year old with the balance older. This selection is to ensure the wine has subtle oak character which allows the fruit to shine
