The Prädikatswein classification indicates superior quality, and was historically associated with the top level of German wines.
Spätlese, meaning "late harvest", means grapes were picked at least seven days after normal harvest once they have had more time to ripen. Not to be confused with New Zealand's late harvest which are usually dessert wines, Spätlese wines are typically half dry - not as sweet as something like The Brothers Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc.

The Giesen brothers' boutique Riesling vineyard on the slopes of Reiler Goldlay allows us to bring a small allocation into New Zealand for our friends and family to enjoy. This has been planned for many years, so we're excited that this first edition has arrived in NZ.
